About our school

Penrith Valley School is a school for specific purpose (SSP), established to cater for students who have a documented pattern of challenging behaviours, which despite intensive interventions over an extended period of time have not been effectively resolved.

Our school aims to help students who display behaviour difficulties better understand their behaviour and learn to accept responsibility for their actions. Students have opportunities to learn new skills in a smaller and highly structured environment whilst still maintaining contact with their home school, where appropriate. Our programs focus on teaching students the social, behavioural and academic skills necessary for them to make a successful transition back into their home school and continue further study. We focus on positive interactions, through developing and implementing innovative, appropriate and relevant curricula based on current educational research.

In 2014, Penrith Adolescent Centre (senior school campus) and Penrith Valley Learning Centre (junior school campus) relocated to our current location, to become one school, Penrith Valley School (PVS), catering for students from Years 5 - 12.
